I'm off this week for my annual trip to the Chautauqua Institution (www.ciweb.org)
after which I will participate in a five-day training on Nonviolent
Communication for Educators (www.cnvc.org).
Since both of these events promise to be filled with great energy and
inspiration (our Chautauqua theme is "Family: All of a Kind? All Different?"), I'm sure
you'll be hearing more about both experiences in the weeks ahead.
Until then, I thought you would enjoy the following
good ideas for better health from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services
(www.smallstep.gov). Put them into
practice for more energy and enjoyment in life!
- Skip the buffet.
- Do sit-ups in front of the TV.
- Avoid food portions larger than your fist.
- Walk instead of drive whenever you can.
- Sit up straight at work.
- Eat breakfast every day.
- Ask a friend to exercise with you.
- Drink 100% fruit juices over soda and sugary drinks.
- Play with your kids 30 minutes a day.
- Drink lots of water.
- Choose a physical activity that fits into your daily routine.
- Snack on fruits and vegetables.
Coaching Inquires: How many of these ideas do you implement on a regular

exercise buddy? How could your life be more wonderful?
