It's true! A diet high in dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE), a naturally occurring
nutritional compound found especially in wild salmon (as well as in sardines and
anchovies), can help your children think more clearly, improve their memory, and
increase their problem-solving ability. Studies have also shown that DMAE
stabilizes cell membranes, protecting them from free radical damage according to
Nicholas Perricone, M.D., author of The Perricone Prescription.
Wild salmon is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Increasing your dietary intake
of these critical fats will help protect you and your children against a
multitude of diseases including stroke, heart attack, and some forms of cancers
to name a few. Omega-3 fatty acids help the body adequately build ideal cell
membranes that optimize cellular health, therefore protecting you against so
many health problems.
Furthermore, studies have found that because over 60 percent of the brain is
fat, omega-3 fatty acids promote the brain's ability to regulate mood-related
signals; therefore relieving a host of mental health issues including attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder and dementia. These amazing fatty acids are
crucial for normal nervous system, attention, and memory functions.
Coaching Questions: Could your children's attention and memory functions use a
boost? How often do you serve yourself and your children meals that include DMAE
and Omega-3 fatty acids? How can you introduce wild salmon and other DMAE and
Omega-3 rich foods into your children's diet?
