(2000-present) Teaching responsibilities include a case-based
course to apply theories in educational administration to real problems of
practice, supervision, professional development, and coaching interns.
Other responsibilities include supervising doctoral students, leading the Brickell
School Leaders Partnership Program, and representing the University at the
Virginia Professors of Educational Leadership. Teaching responsibilities included educational leadership, organizational theory, and human relations. |

Novice G. Fawcett Graduate Scholar, Columbus, OH (1994-98) Researched a variety of topics, including teacher efficacy, school climate, and trust (see publications and presentations below). Assisted with editing of the manuscripts for three books on school climate, as well as several scholarly articles. Assisted in the preparation of a field-initiated study grant proposal as well as a proposal for Human Subjects Review Board approval for the Social Processes in Schools Project. Good News Educational Workshop, Chicago, IL (1979-93) Founder, Principal, Teacher: Founded a reading tutorial program for inner-city children together with National Louis University. Founded an independent school, grades K-8, in a racially diverse, low-income community. Responsibilities included overseeing daily operation of school, hiring and supervising staff, fundraising, and teaching. GNEW aimed to unleash the power of education early in the lives of disadvantaged children so as to break the cycle of poverty. GNEW emphasized progressive teaching methods, with an accent on problem-solving and creative thinking, and was recognized for its pioneering work in the teaching of nonviolent conflict resolution to children. |
