Career Pathway #172:
Who Are Your Teachers?

You may have heard the saying, "when the student is ready, the
teacher appears." Well it has been a renaissance for me in the last few years,
since I opened myself to the field of coaching. The spring of knowledge flowing
my way has been gushing with wonderful people, happy and willing to share their
insight, practices, methods, and wisdom. I guess I was sending the signal out
loud and clear that I was "ready" and the universe responded.
This knowledge and learning has improved my life in many ways, and continues to
expand my thinking and expression of who I am and how I live my life. And the
further I find myself on the path, the more teachers I find along beside me.
Sometimes, I almost feel that there is too much information finding me. But then
it is just a matter of tuning into my spirit and grounding myself, so that I can
accept and assimilate what is before me.
As you approach your career path and other life endeavors, be aware of what
resources are crossing your path. Is there a book or two that folks have been
mentioning? Is there a hobby or past-time that you've been paying closer
attention to? Has the idea of taking a class or going back for a degree been
knocking? Are there people around you that you would like to get to know better,
in order to share a collegial relationship? Have you been pondering the benefits
of engaging with a mentor or two? Are you ready to experience coaching
conversations to explore your life's purpose or direction?
Pay attention to the energy you are feeling around any of these possibilities.
Where there is energy, there is magic! Your intuition will lead you to resources
full of potential, but it is up to the conscious you to recognize and engage.
Coaching Inquiries: Are you open to new sources of learning and ideas? Do you
respond by initiating conversation or perusing the resource? If something
intrigues you, do you make time in your life to explore it? Are you ready for
your teachers to appear?
